2021 EXPO Torphy (Art)

A Modest Man

Abstract 

This photographic series captures the essence of John Torphy. As a father of 3 daughters, he has been an influential figure. The images depict him as a hardworking man who cherishes the small things in life. Whether he is smoking a pipe or building a campfire, he makes time for the good in life. Portraying my father through still life of his collections, I hold onto the memories that his objects represent. By incorporating artificial lighting, I tell his story. I use both 2-point and 3-point lighting to establish the mood and draw focus to the important aspects of the photograph.
