2021 EXPO Poster Sarnelli (Italian)
Abstract
The Italian Trade Agency (ITA/ICE) is an Italian government agency that works to support and develop Italian companies, mostly small to medium size enterprises (SMEs/PMI), abroad and promote the attraction of foreign investment in Italy. During the 2020 summer and fall semesters, I had the pleasure of participating in a hybrid internship as a trade analyst at the Italian Trade Agency of Chicago, in which I worked alongside senior trade analysts Michael Cappiello and Brigitte Auteri in completing partner research (ricerca partner) services. In this presentation, I will discuss business development and commercial partnerships between the US and Italy by speaking on my overall internship experience. I will share my experiences conducting market feasibility studies for the automotive, machinery and packaging industries, creating contact lists of potential US partners, and using email campaigns to create awareness and establish relations.
