Before making a recording with your computer, you'll need to download and install the Panopto Recorder. The instructions below apply to both PCs and Macs. If you are using a mobile device, see the tutorial on installing Panopto Mobile.

Downloading the Panopto Recorder

Let's start by logging in to Panopto.
Go to https://dominican.hosted.panopto.com
At the User Sign-In window that appears, make certain that Dominican University is selected.
Click the sign-in button.
When prompted, login using your Dominican username and password.
You'll now see the the landing page for the Panopto portal.
In the upper-right hand corner, locate the download link for the Panopto Recorder app.
The Panopto download window will appear and you can select the appropriate installer for your operating system.
After clicking the download button, the Panopto installer file will be placed into the default download folder on your computer.

Installing the Panopto Recorder (Windows)

After the download has completed, locate the PanoptoRecorder.exe installer file on your computer and double-click it to begin the installation process.
Momentarily, you will be presented with a window displaying the installation and storage locations for the Panopto. In addition, the window will display the server address that Panopto will use when uploading recordings (dominican.hosted.panopto.com).
Select "Next".
At the next window, select "Install" to complete installation.
When the installation is complete, the Panopto Recorder will launch and the login window will appear.
Go ahead and close Panopto for now.
